After watching a trailer for the upcoming movie Transformers, I really wanted to learn more about Beagle 2. I found out that it was actually a British spacecraft that was lost on the surface of Mars, but I couldn't find anything on it's last transmission. Any additional info on this would be great! Thank you.

I learned in class recently that the Earth is 4.6 billion years old, but our oldest rocks are 3.9 billion.

First, do we know how old the Earth is by dating asteroids? Since they were formed at the same time as the planet that would make sense.

Second, does that mean it took .7 billion years for the Earth to cool down? What made it cool?

Cite sources please.

I heard once that if earth was 50 miles closer to the sun in it's orbit, we'd all burn up, and if it was 50 miles farther, we'd all freeze to death. Is this true, and can you provide any sources for/against it?

I read a theory once about the universe curving back around to itself. So for example: You sent a probe away from earth in a straight line. Barring any contact with other stars or objects the probe would eventually end back up in our solar system.

Does anyone know the formal name of this theory?

Whether you believe God or the big bang theory, I want to hear opinions on if you think there have to be other planets exactly like ours out there with some form of life on it. I heard there are so many galaxies that we don't even know of and millions of planets we don't know about.

Hello dudes, I was wondering what would happen if say our bodies were in a spacecraft that suffered decompression and we got vented into space? Would the pressure in our bodies cause us to explode, or just massively haemorrhage?

No guesses or jokes please, only scientific answers.

If a small amount of energy is all required to pick up speed in space then double triplle and so on until resistance why cant we try extreme thrust one time. Something like 100,000 mph then simply coast. It would double infinintly until resistance-1-2-4-8-16-36- Thats seems like away to achieve great speed in space. Im probably dead wrong it would not double but i think it would change from original speed in the positive category and so on?

Is it possible in space for a vessel ship or object to double its speed because of lack of resisitance? Lets say you go 100mph in space could it double in a period of time then repeat the process.
100mph then 2-4-6-8-10? Is it possible what do we know about momentum-inertia in space.
