Do you think they are observing us. But, we don't know about it and they're planning some kind of an invasion within 2 decades ? I just have this feeling we're being watched or listened to from far away. But, they're canceling their noise. So that we don't know about their position.

By my calculations using the Drake equation, I figure there must be about 70,000 intelligent civilizations in the galaxy....that is, civilizations that exist with the technology of the bronze age on up to interstellar travelers and maybe to the level of demigods. I think that civilizations that reach the level of interstellar travel will be beyond the wanton lust to destroy themselves....they grow beyond hate.

Darlin, get a life, then you will have no need to worry about being watched or listened to, from far away. As regards the invasion within 2 decades, don't worry about it. However, there is a possibility that this invasion could be right next door to you!

In our galaxy alone it is very unlikely , our society of astronomers are very determined to find life out there , and they have and are at the present searching for any signals that make sense , and they have not found one yet , , Now that said, there are uncounted galaxies , that the possibilities of intelligent civilisations is very and highly probable , but you have or we have some thing in our favor is distance , you see what we have seen in movies or books with the ideas of traveling at out of this world speeds is just that ... science fiction , imagination and not probable , the speed that is a fact is light and time of one second ,and that is very probable every were in the universe , taking that into consideration , what ever travelers are out there ,would be returning back home in the future , and this stands with the law of relativity thought out by Einstein , which if you studie it you'll see that is true , and that's why is not likely of any body coming over to visit us , don't worry it won't happen .

well there is a possibility that there might be civilizations that actually might be much advanced than us...its all about the timing our star and our solar system is very young so in conclusion we are very young as civilization(heck,our science actually dates back to maximum of 500 years...)...put all the conditions in the same place but just think that a star like sun with a solar system like us came into existance about a million years earlier than us than there might be a civilization that is a million years older and obviously more experience and advanced than us..
and there is alwayz the possibility that they maybe watching or even maybe manipulating us as they may have science far far more advance than us as their civilization is much more premitive...infact they may well be responsible for life on this planet after all how did dna or basic building block of life come into existance...obviously there must have been something to initiate it and that might well be some other highly advanced species from another world...
i mean think about it...the tehnology which we have dates back to a few hundred years and even at this primitive stage we think that we can unlock all the codes of this universe..so a civilization even a few 1000 years old might well have already unlocked and manipulated all the hidden codes of life and this universe...
its worth thinking but thats the thing...if its true than our own existance is at stake and our ideas and beliefs may well be manipulated...thats why we dont think about it because we know that we may never come to the actual truth until that day when we actually see them and their superiority...

Yes, I think theyre watching. NO, don't think those numbers are accurate. Yes, I think they're planning to pay us a visit, but I don't think it'll be an invasion, nor in 2 decades. It might be sooner than that or later than that. I don't think they know how to communicate with us, how to send the radio signals, for which we're searching. I think it's true, that we don't know where they're positioned. Maybe their females will seek out us, men.

They've launched the invasion, but they are coming from over 50,000 light years away and traveling less than half the speed of light, so we still have time to prepare if we act quickly. As far as the noise,they use space to cancel that. They have stopped observing us for now, and prefer to engage in massively multi-player role playing games.

They been doing it for a long time but more intensely in the last few years. The invasion has already started. Have you noticed how your own freedoms have eroded away more and more lately.

Wow, listen you might need some medication if you really are having these "feelings". The idea that there are that many civilizations is bases on the drake equation. But space and time are so vast that it's unlikely.

I believe the Rare Earth hypothesis has quite smartly placed the Drake Equation in the dust bin of scientific history.
Keep up, folks. Ward and Brownlee have done a lot to influence this debate. I believe they may be overly pessimistic, but you can't help but be tempered by their arguments.
