1) light and heat

2) If the solar system had two suns much would depend on how close they are to each other. If they were very close, some planets will exist, however, they would not orbit either sun they would instead orbit their grvitational center. This could lead to very irradic weather and temperature patterns potentially snuffing out any hope for life. If the stars were farther apart these climate issues will be seriously amplified. Another issue is that planets may not form at all because the stars gravity and motion would wipe them out before they form.

The Sun has more than 2 major functions besides light and heat. It functions also as a cooling device, in that the size of the star allows the matter to cool over 20 million degrees from the center to the surface, which produces just enough heat and light to create balance in the zone of life, where water can exist in liquid, solid and gaseous forms. It also holds the solar system together with its mass. And let's not forget about the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It has an effect on tides.

If there were two Suns, things would be quite different, but how different things would be would be dependent on many factors: the location of the second Sun and its proximity to the other Sun; it's size and mass; the type of star that it is, etc. Factoring in these things, there might be 2 zones of life...there might be none. This would surely have an effect on the orbit of the planets...which Sun would the planets revolve around? Whatever order was created would certainly be different than what we now are experiencing.

1) The sun provides use with engergy in the form of light

2) If we had two suns our orbiting would result in the chaos theory. We would no longer have a unique pattern in our orbit since there is now two major variable effecting our path of orbit. It would be a very irregular pattern with with very little way to predict where it will go next. For example take a bunch of yarn, and two base balls and the the yarn around the two baseballs and that is pretty much what our orbit would look like... no real pattern to it.

1.Functions...it gives light and heat. and Uv rays, Gamma rays, other rays. Solar winds, solar flare...etc.

2. Two suns!!! cool! But first it depends where the sun is located...for ex: what if it is right outaside the orbit of Urans. or 1000 miles from our earth...? Depends on where you want it to be..lolz...
