I don't mean life at present, but perhaps life forms millions of years ago when there was still water on the planet. Is there any indication that microorganisms existed in the distant past on Mars?

are we aliens hopping around from planet to planet? is this why all the other planets look dead? maybe it is because we have already been there and destroyed what ever was there like we are doing to planet earth.

Well God does show evidence that there is life on another planet in the bible, I believe there could be, what is your opinion? Could there be a world where magic exists IE: flying, fireballs etc the possiblities are endless? Things could be happening beyond our comprenhension!

and still looks pretty big, I was wondering how bright and big would it look if you were just a few thousands of miles away from it in space? Any pictures online that would show it?

Why don't they send hubble near it to take a picture of it that close?

Following up on Brancomicguy's question "what would happen if we started clumping asteroids and planets...?"

It is believed that the earth is slowly increasing in size. Possibly because of the space dust continuously raining down on our planet.

Taking into consideration what I have said in my answer to BRANCOMICGUY's question, would'nt this be another possible explanation to global warming?

The big bang was an event of unimaginably huge power! Now; I have seen and read all kinds of theories about how it all began, I`ve seen graphs about big bang itself. One popular picture depicts the explosion radiating outwards; It leaves more questions than answers about the nature of the bang. To me; when theres` an explosion, with nothing nearby to direct the blast in one direction or another; the blast will radiate 360 degrees. Now; should`nt it be possible, knowing the direction and speed of of all the objects in the cosmos; to trace the objects backwards until the actual starting point of this astonishing event???? (just a thought)

If its too far to see, why can't you see light reflect off the shiny metal faces of all that hardware?

we went to the moon or not?

There are 400,000 reasons to say we went (the number of Apollo workers over the 7 year period), and another few hundred absolute witnesses (the controllers who worked the banks of displays at Florida and Houston - how would you get a Hollywood past them for 7 years).

There were half a dozen stupid and scientifically lacking reasons given by Fox news, and half the kids in the USA believe the latter.

Those kids should be celebrating the most exciting and amazing voyages of discovery ever, and instead they are listening to the ramblings of ignorant crackpots.

I am doing a lab on the H-R diagram, and the question is:

"Luminosity" doesn't necessarily mean "brightness". Instead, luminosity refers to the amount of energy that a star is giving off. In the diagram, Betegeuse and Barnard's star are about the same temperature, but Betelgeuse is much more luminous. What is this telling us about the characteristics of these two stars? Name at least 2 characteristics and explain your reasoning"

Now one reason that I want to think has to do with the differences in luminosity is due to the fact that Betelguese is larger and bc of that would most likely emit more luminosity (or energy) and the inverse-square law would play a factor in this? My second characteristic is perhaps the relative distance that each star is.

Is there anyone with some knowledge of astronomy that could help me figure out whether or not I am on the right track with this question? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

OK so for the last couple of months I have been having this debate with my hubby about where you actually are we you are in the air on an aeroplane. My dear hubby seems to have it in his head that as soon as you leave earth (as in leave the ground) you are in space! My point was that when you are on an aeroplane although you are leaving the ground of earth you are still in planet earth just not on the ground otherwise you would be in space and we all know there is no gravity in space!! Im trying to explain to him his point is wrong but I cant do that without facts!! Please help me try and tell him he is WRONG because he is driving me mad!! Hope this makes sense!!
