I think is real

Chemistry - yes, it is real or unreal.
Biology - MRS GREN
M - it moves with the silky precision of a very drunk crab. (It moves outwards)
R - I'm not so sure it reproduces, or respires
S - if it's sensitive its being very closed about it

G - it grows outwards
R - as above
E - i don't wanna know where that comes from, but i suppose Earth could be the waste of the bit's left over...
N - it eats nothingness, then fills it.

Biology - probably unreal.

Physics - For centuries people thought Newton was an idiot because he suggested light travelled as packets of energy; then Einstein said he was right. The point is that as people come and go, squirrels will still be squirrels. But the definition of real or unreal for the universe changes year to year. So it could be real today, but might be unreal next century, than change between left right and centre. The thing i've learned from physics, is no-one knows so they make it up.
And yes before you ask. I am insane... or at least working on it...

When the Sims came out there was a small debate i remembered reading. Sine games were becoming ever more complex, it was suggested that this universe of ours could just be part of some computer simulation or game of an advanced species. But if our universe isn't real, you'll probably never know so just go along with it.

Have you ever tried making something from nothing, I challenge you to make an apple pie, just one condition, your going to be given no ingredients to do it. So, when will the apple pie be ready?
Reality is far from understood and comes down to basic logic, previous answers are correct as far as we are concerned (I can see you, touch you, converse with you and as long as you are a lady I can kiss you(that would be nice) and the world is just big enough to be able for us to to understand what is happening practically any where. So, reality is relatively easy to acknowledge/understand. However as we reach out to the stars things get a little more complicated when we have to judge our existence with what is going on , has gone before and will come. Reality is not yet within ore capabilities to prove. In time man will evolve into another species, if you like we are a necessary step in that evolution both my and your genes will be passed on to others where reality will become truth.

Stick yourself with a sewing needle. If you wince in pain, than you know the universe you inhabit is real.

The proof? If your pain is real, then it would be vain to think everything else is unreal.

Science takes the view that there is an objective reality that we can test, measure, record and draw logical conclusions from. If we didn't believe in an objective reality, then it could change at whim and the data we record and conclusions we made would be worthless.

I reckon we're in a marble, just like the one in 'Men in Black'! Earthquakes are caused by little kids (who are really GIGANTIC - to us) playing with the marbles.

We can observe it, study it, measure it, test it...
so as far as science is concerned, it's quite real.
