Three coins are thrown. If there are either 1 or 2 heads, half of the time, two coins selected at random are thrown again. This process is repeated until either there are 0 or 3 heads, or when half of the time it's left alone. What is the probability of 0 heads (or 3 heads) being the final state?

i was reading on a website about the 2012 apocalypse that since 2012 is coming that these changes will occur withing the next 5 years.......
SOME POSSIBLE EFFECTS OF THE CHANGES.
* Migraine headaches, tiredness* Electrical sensations in the limbs and spinal column* Cramps in the muscular networks* Flu like symptoms* Intense dreams.* The human body will become more sensitive as a result of the new vibrations.
* The resonance of Earth has been 7.8Hz for thousands of years. Since 1980 it has risen to over 12Hz.
This means that 16 hours now equate to a 24 hour day. Time is speeding up!* The physical body has already begun to change. A new light body is being created.* Our DNA is being re-programmed from the Universe (as predicted in the Mayan Prophecy). We are going from 2 strand back to 12 strand DNA.
* Greater intuitive and healing abilities will emerge.* Eyes will become cat like in order to adjust to the new atmosphere and light.* All newly born children will probally be telepathc

That is why there are many Asian immigrants(take note: "IMMIGRANTS" who had their medicine education here in the States but was born in other countries) on the east coast is because they cannot get any residency in the west coast because they are not granted one since they are not white, and sometimes it does not work very well on the east coast either, so is that really true??? if that is true then I have a HUGE problem

Situation: There are two blackholes; one that was formed completely of matter; and on that was completely formed of anti-matter. Do they cancel each other out and form energy or just make a bigger blackhole? (Maybe I just shouldn't have started reading science fiction again!)

a) a pump is is used to move water through a short pipe of diametre 100 mm. The water has a temperature of 15 ͦ C and a pressure of 100kpa. The pump moves the water up a vertical distance of 2m and the water exits to atmospheric pressure. Assume the process is adiabatic and frictionless. If the mass flow rate of the water is required to be 3kg/s, calculate the power required by the pump.

b)how would introduce the effects of friction into the problem described?

Any help would be most appreciated
Thanks!

Here is the problem: last year, the letters page in a national newspaper carried a long running story over a comment regarding the interpretation of the second law of thermodynamics.

The orignial comment that generated the letters was:

The theory of evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics; this is because the theory of evolution predicts increasing order over time, whereas the second law of thermodynamics predicts the opposite.

state whether you agree or disagree with the comment. Give detailed reasoning

Cheers!

If their was such a think as a random number genorator (RNG) that picked any random number from zero upwards. no limit.

The chance of the RNG picking a previosly selected number is 1/infineity... which effectivly = 0

the chance of it picking any number from 0 to 1,000,000,000,000 = 1,000,000,000,000/infinity = 0

any number divided by infinity is effectivly zero.

but because the RNG can pick a number infinitly large, it could pick infinity

and infitity/infinity = 1

therefore, a RNG that genorates any number larger than zero must genorate and infineitly large number EVERY time.

therefore it is not random at all because it can not pick a finite number.

so its a paradox

You’re sitting on the subway with a cup of coffee on the floor. It never seems to fall, despite the large accelerations and decelerations that the train makes. With what magnitude must the train accelerate (or decelerate) in order to make the cup topple over. Assume that friction is strong enough that the cup does not slide, it just falls. You can think of the cup as an ideal cylinder, full to the brim with coffee that has the same density as water. The dimensions of this perfectly cylindrical cup are diameter = 5cm and height = 12cm.
It will be very difficult to find an exact number for this acceleration, though there is most certainly a distinct number that if the train reaches, the coffee will spill. You do not have to find the exact number, just list steps to solve it.
