I am new to astronomy, and I have been noticing how expensive large glass mirrors for reflector telescopes can get. I am just curious why a quality mirror can't just be cast or stamped out of say acrylic or polycarbonate or some other cheap plastic, then be polished and coated? Is there some property of plastic that makes it less suitable for a telescope mirror?

I had a bottle of gatorade (lemon lime) lying around for a few days, it's been in and out of the fridge and theres about 1/6th left in it. I recently noticed some white cloudy stuff in it, what could it be? It's been in my room and nobody's had access to it.

Actually, i just had another look at it and it's not really white but i can tell it apart from the rest of the liquid and it seems thicker..

Jo is practising pool on an American 9-ball pool table, where the balls are numbered from 1 to 9. Jo picks a geometric sequence and, if there are balls on the table whose numbers are in that sequence, then Jo pots all of them. Jo keeps picking geometric sequences (and potting the corresponding balls) until all nine balls have been potted.

If Jo is very good, and never misses a shot, what is the least number of geometric sequences that Jo needs to pick in order to clear the table?
