Why were you prescribed Warfarin (Coumadin)? Most likely if you're prescribed a "blood thinner" you are at high risk for clotting. In addition, to making you blood thinner while taking this medication, stopping smoking will reduce the risk for blood clots. Smoking/nicotine constricts your blood vessels causing the lumen of your arteries to narrow. If you're at risk for clotting, smoking should be stopped. I'm studying to become a nurse, so I don't know all the answers yet, but for quick information try Medlineplus. Hope this helps.
