In an sp hibrydized orbial we have 2 hybridized and 2 unhybridized orbitals. What is the order of filling? Do we start filling the hybridized orbitals first or the unhybridized?
E.g. if an atom has 5 valence elctrons, we put 1 on each orbital. but where does the 5th one go?

I notice these lines in the sky, which run from thousands of feet high all the way to the ground. Are they part of the test or is it a natural phenom which occurs because of the blast?

I'm planning on making a geodesic globe for a art class. I'm likely going to do a 320 sided version, as the next biggest one is 1280 sides (correct me if i'm wrong on that). But i need to figure out what size to cut the triangles, is there a basic formula to figure it out? If it helps, i'm likely going to go for something basketball sized or the same size as a standard globe, since i'll likely use one as a shell and cover it with the triangles.

I get it that it's acetic acid, and that is called vinegar. But I just want to know, if I only had the chemical formula, and no where else to look, how would I name that? For example, I have C6H12O6. Without the use of Google, how do I find out what to call this? Thanks!

In cyclic voltammetry, a reversible process should have Ic/Ia = 1.
But when its not 1, sometimes it is described as quasi-reversible. When is the process considered reversible / quasi-reversible /Irreversible?

I have to do a report and presentation on "The properties and usage of selected transition elements". I selected iron, cobalt and nickel because somewhere I read that they where special. I wanted to start off by describing some sort of technology that uses iron, cobalt and nickel and then describe the role of each and then describe the properties that make them so usefull. The problem is, I don't know of any such technology, If anyone knows of one or has any general tips or suggestions for me I would appreciate it.

BTW: the presentation is on monday so I don't have time for anything overly elaborate.

but did not get the green color that I was expecting.
The chem supply store where I bought this is not very popular so this chemical probably sat on the shelf for a few years.
The chemical is a bit clumpy.
How else can I test this chemical?

I have some confusion on the phase of the moon: Full Moon. The confusion is that at the full moon the earth is between sun and when the earth comes in the middle of the moon and the sun then how the light of sun reaches the moon? The sunlight should be stopped by the face of the earth facing the moon.

A mountain rescue team has to send a rescue line across to a climber stranded on a rock face. They cannot reach the base of the face because of obstacles but observe that the angle of elevation of the stranded climber is 26.6degrees and if they move 10metres nearer, the angle of elevation becomes 30.3degrees. How high up the rock face is the climber and how long must the rescue line be in order to reach her?

How do I work this out? I've tried sketching it but I just can't figure out what it should look like. Please help me out.

Desiderata establishes that we are children of the universe and we have a right to be here no less than the trees and the stars. But does our right to be here supercede the right of trees and stars to be here? We go about our daily lives destroying forests for huge industrial Starbuck plantations. We treat dead trees similarly, digging up their fossil remains and burning them, pumping greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. Our activities are changing Earth from a planet that welcomes a huge diversity of life to something far less hospitable for our species.

But what about the stars' right to be here? Quantum theory shows us that on a subatomic scale, we change particle attributes such as spin, location, energy, etc, simply by measuring them. Could the same thing be happening on a cosmological scale? By measuring the amount of dark matter in the universe, could we be changing it from a life-welcoming state to a life-hostile state, thereby hastening its, and our ultimate demise?
