Desiderata establishes that we are children of the universe and we have a right to be here no less than the trees and the stars. But does our right to be here supercede the right of trees and stars to be here? We go about our daily lives destroying forests for huge industrial Starbuck plantations. We treat dead trees similarly, digging up their fossil remains and burning them, pumping greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. Our activities are changing Earth from a planet that welcomes a huge diversity of life to something far less hospitable for our species.

But what about the stars' right to be here? Quantum theory shows us that on a subatomic scale, we change particle attributes such as spin, location, energy, etc, simply by measuring them. Could the same thing be happening on a cosmological scale? By measuring the amount of dark matter in the universe, could we be changing it from a life-welcoming state to a life-hostile state, thereby hastening its, and our ultimate demise?

Human beings and Earth are such a microscopic portion of the big picture they have virtually no influence on the unfolding of the universe. Nothing has any rights, everything is subjected to the laws of nature and the universe will unfold according to those laws.

I think in my opinion that the control system of the Universe was designed to give a more positive out come.
A control system is usually designed to self correct any error.
That same scenario applies to Dna replications in biological cells.
As far as Quantum Mechanics theory is concerned no decision has been made, whether it is Einstein General relativity or Quantum Mechanics theory that is the real model of the Universe. Hence the question arises, which theory represents the Reality of the Universe.
And the Big Bang theory alludes that the Universe is continually expanding. If that would be the Case , then with Time the density of the Universe would be dwindling to almost zero.
Hence this is a gloomy picture of the Universe,Unless science do something about it.

I think that the dark matter in the universe has a mass and an endurance that exceeds the uncertainty principle sufficiently far that it's probably safe to say that you're not going to change it (all that much) by measuring it.

Your question is good one but your views are not realistic or practical. You have an utopian kind of vision for life, universe etc.

You had mentioned about the rights of trees, agree? In that case why do you eat food? you have only 2 sources of food; either plant sources or animal sources. If you eat animal sources then you are destroying their right to live in this world. If you eat plant products then you destroy the rights of plants/ trees.

Now tell me how we human beings survive without being sadistic to some extent??? We have to be little cruel to either plants or animals then only we could survive.

Now if you talking about a better quality of life for we human beings by preserving our trees, prevent global warming etc; I agree with you that we should avoid cutting trees, destroying forests etc.

But if you are talking about their rights and if we respect their rights then what will we eat? how will we survive???

Your points are well taken with regard to save the earth, solar system, the galaxy universe etc and make our life better, but please do not talk about the rights of trees etc;

Because they have a right to live on the earth till they die naturally, they have a right to not to be eaten by human beings for food purpose.

What right you are mentioning is " a right from our perspective, a selfish human perspective where we decide what is right or wrong for us" but what is right for us may not be right for the trees. Their rights are truly respected only if we do not eat any plant derived food in addition to not cutting them, destroying them for other purposes. But then we will have to die, agree?

I do agree with you that we need to have a balance on cutting the forests etc. I think there should be strict rules and regulations so that we destroy the plants/ trees etc to the minimum extent possible.

Don't worry; God has it all under control.

"global warming is a natural consequence of variations in solar activity and other influences that have been going on for MANY years....Please don't buy into the fantasy that it is 'man made'.

Yes, it is really and truly unfolding as it "should," including everything we think (from our point of view) is horrible and wonderful.

I didn't take the 5 seconds time to read you message but I don't believe in global warming or whatever you're talking about
