well, this is (x^2-4x+5)(x^2-4x+5), so the easiest way would be to foil it. x^2 * x^2 is x^4. x^2 * -4x is -4x^3. x^2 * 5 is 5x^2. then -4x * x^2 is -4x^3 again. -4x * -4x is 16x^2. -4x * 5 is -20x. then finally, 5 * x^2 is 5x^2 again. 5* -4x is -20 x again. and 5 * 5 is 25. So the new equation is
x^4-4x^3+5x^2-4x^3+16x^2-20x+25.
Combine like terms and you get
x^4-8x^3+21x^2-20x+25.
And thats your answer. By the way, sorry its a little sloppy. the computer isnt made for math equations. Let me know if you have any questions by emailing me and if you want me to i can retype the whole thing in a math program and then attach to an email. Hope i helped!

= (x^2 - 4x)^2 + 5^2 + 2(5x^2 - 20x)
= x^4 - 8 x^3 + 26 x^2 - 40 x + 25

(x^2-4x+5)(x^2-4x+5)=(x^4-4x^3+5x^2-4x^3+16x^2-20x+5x^2-20x+25
collect the coefficients of x^4, x^3, x^2, x and add 25.

(x^2-4x+5)*(x^2-4x+5)
= x^4 -4x^3 +5x^2
-4x^3 + 16x^2 -20x
+5x^2 -20x +25
x^4 -8x^3 +26x^2 -40x +25

I assume that you want to simplify it.
Then
(x^2-4x+5)^2
You know that
(a+b+c)^2=a^2+b^2+c^2+2ab+2ac+2bc
Here
a=x^2 b=-4 c=5
So,
(x^2-4x+5)^2=(x^2)^2+(-4x)^2+(5)^2+2(x^2)(-4)+2(x^2)(5)+2(-4)(5)
=x^4+16x^2+25-8x^3+10x^2-40x
=x^4-8^x3+26x^2-40x+25
That is your answer.
