A cyclist starts frm rest and freewheels down a hill inclined arcsin 1/20 to the horizontal . After traveling 80m the road becomes horizontal and the cyclist travels another 80m before coming to rest without using his brakes. Given that the combined mass of the cyclist and his machine is 80kg, model the cyclist and his machine as a single particle and hence find the resistive force, assumed constant throughtout the motion.

could you explain the steps please...thnxs...

Two balls, of masses Ma=0.036kg and Mb=0.06kg are suspended on 0.3m strings next to each other. The lighter ball is pulled away to a 60degree angle wiht the vertical and released. WHat is the velocity of the lighter ball before impact? What is the velocity of each ball after the elastic collision? What will be the maximum height of each ball(above the collision point) after the elastic collision?

I have always wondered if you can walk into the forest and run up on a wild cow. If not today, could you ever do this in the past? They had to come from somewhere, right? I've also wondered this about fruits and vegetables. Like, can you go into the woods and find wild squash, or wild cabbage, or a wild orange tree?

More than likely I have fallen way behind in my pre-cal class and I don't know what sin x or cos x is in terms of tan x. I read up everything in the book and nothing is addressed for tan x, so I guess the book doesn't tell you everything. I guess I have to actually go to a tutor for the first time in my life... sux.

Alright, I'm having some trouble figuring out these slopes...

My first question is, would 7x + 6(x + 5y) = 6x + y be linear? If so, how would I right it in standard form?

My second question is, what is the slope that passes through (-1, -1) and (10,9)?
