I prefer cool titles like in the movie "Aliens" where the planet is called LV4-26. The kind of title a scientist or a company would give. But it depends on the fiction. It the setting is non terrestrial then avoid names that associate with earth and earthbased lore and language. Like paradise and divinity. Try to think of a word with weirds groupings of vowels or consonants. Like Moogaahk or Cthulhu. Something difficult to say with a human tounge...

It depends on the kind of story. The last one sounds like a planet that might appear in an allegorical tale. The second one sounds as if the story has some utopian theme. (If the first one appeared in a story by an author named Lynn, I would say she had some serious ego issues!)

Names like these are good for 'homeworlds.' I'm with the rest of the crowd here - Divinity isn't really a good name for a planet, but the other two are. (Although, what would we think about the name 'Earth' if we never heard of it before?)
If it's a colony-type of world, or something you want to sound 'remote,' then they'd sound most believable if their names were catalog numbers such as Lambda Kentaurus 4, BZ2204-7 or something like that.

These names are good but you can go to the following link and they have some pretty good ideas:
http://direpress.bin.sh/tools/sf_name.html
Just choose Type: Space - then Planet names from the second pull down.
Have fun writing.

"I decreased in length Lynariea from that tramp I have been given with final weekend." "I took a holiday to the rain wooded area and that i caught paradicia." They sound like illnesses. ~~~~ Paradica is fantastic as long as there are marching bands interior the international.
