Climate Change or they don't intend to migrate south at all. Or maybe even they have migrated south from Canada. If it has rained recently then insects underground would be forced to the surface making good hunting for them.

Global Warming or whatever the problem is that we have been having with our weather hasn't just started to melt the Arctic ice cap it has also delayed and confused animals that normally migrate. The famous Monarch Butterfly migration was delayed this year because of the unusually warm weather this year. Your robin probably doesn't read a calender so he or she doesn't know that they should be gone by now.

Of course it could be that your robins don't intend to migrate. Not all of them do.

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarch_butterfly
"They make massive southward migrations starting in August until the first frost. A northward migration takes place in the spring."

Their migration was delayed at least a month this year.

According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Robin
"While Robins occasionally overwinter in the northern part of the United States and southern Canada, most winter south of Canada from Florida and the Gulf Coast to central Mexico, as well as along the Pacific Coast. Most depart south by the end of August and begin to return north in February and March (exact dates vary with latitude and climate). "

According to: http://depts.washington.edu/natmap/facts/american_robin_712.html
"Range / Habitat: In North America, American Robins breed from Alaska east to Newfoundland, Canada and south to California and east to Florida. The American Robin can be found in farmlands, suburbs and urban neighborhoods.

Overwintering Range: American Robins overwinter across North America in a patchy mosaic that primarily reflects their opportunity to forage on fruits and berries. When snow cover is high, making food difficult to find, American Robins move farther south. When snow cover is low and food is more readily available, they seem to overwinter in northern locales in higher numbers. --BirdSource."
