x(t) = v1t + p1
y(t) = v2t + p2
z(t) = −1
2 gt2 + v3t + p3 ,
where the initial conditions are: p(0) (p1, p2, p3) are the coordinates of the initial position of the
object; and p0(0) (v1, v2, v3) are the coordinates of the initial velocity of the object. Thus given p(0)
and p0(0) the motion of the object p(t) is known for all time from the formula above.

Suppose the object is launched into space from the point (0, 0, 0) with initial velocity (1, 0, 1).
Where and when does the ball reach its highest point? Suppose your friend is standing at the
point (1, 0, 0) and has an object of his own that he wants to throw up into space to make contact
with your object. Find (v1, v2, v3) so that your friend’s object makes contact with your object
exactly when both objects are at their highest points. (Hint: why can you say v2 = 0?) Draw a
schematic picture of both curves.

Every surface is frictionless in this problem.
A block of mass M is rolling on a frictionless plane (it is on wheels that have no mass). A horizontal force (F) is acting on it. On the top of block of mass M is a smaller block with mass M1. There another block with mass M2 (same as M1) is hanging off the front of block with mass M. It is being held up with a string that goes over a pully and is attached to block with mass M1.
What horizontal force, F, would be needed be applied to block of mass M to have the system of block M1 and M2 have an acceleration of 0?

There are 2 blocks. One with large mass (M) and the other with lighter mass (m). The two block are next to eachother on a frictionless, flat plane. A very small bug (assume no mass) sits in between the two blocks.
In which case would the bug inbetween the blocks be less likely to be squished (recieve the least amount of force)?
1.) A horizontal force, F, pushes the block mass M into block mass m.
2.) A horizontal force, F (same force as in question 1), pushes the block mass m into block mass M.

Explain how you got plz. Thanx!
