I was wondering the avarage speed that is needed to sail a hobie wave. The wight of these catamarans is aproximately 245lbs / 111 kg. Length 13'0"/ 3.96m; Beam 7' / 2.13m; Mast length 20' / 6.09m

They are very light, so they will move with barely perceptible air movement. 5 knots is comfortable sailing on all points. 10 knots makes you pay some attention to avoid capsizing. 20 knots and you're either using all your skill to stay upright and having a great time, or you're swimming. Much above that, and you're just trying to survive. Or you've taken down the sails and are sailing on bare mast.

Lots of COLD rain here, too. I prefer warm rain. It's only 42 degrees.
