...and much less land, however once plants emerged from the ocean, they began to convert the Nitrogen from the air into cellulose, and as the dead plant matter mixed with the rock, eventually soil was created, which in turn allowed for more and more plant life to thrive. Later, amphibians along with the excrement of other land animals, added to the life-giving properties in the soil.

However, in a few hundred million, or perhaps a billion years, the soil will begin to overtake the water (H20), which is subject to being converted along with the Nitrogen in the air, into more & more solid matter. Eventually, the remaining water will begin to evaporate and dissipate, and the earth will resemble Mars, which appears to have once had oceans of water, and quite possibly life, but no longer...

Is this scenario, chemically, geologically and biologically possible, probable, or not?

It seems like we watch too much tv, computers and spend too much time reading in the dark and our eyes get worse.?
But if you never watch tv, NEVER use a computer, and never read a book, then your eyesight will be perfect?

Alkaid, the most distant star in the Big Dipper, is 2.1 X 10^18m from the Earth. Approximately how long does it take light to travel from Alkaid to the Earth?

I took 10^18 which gave me 1,000,000,000,000,000,000... I timed this by 2.1 which gave me 2100000000000000000 Then I expressed it in scientific notation which gave me 2.1X17^18. Is this right??? The other answer that I got was 630880.79..Please help

Sketch the plot of land described below and find its area to the nearest square unit:
From the intersection of 2nd Street and 3rd street, proceed N32 W for 350m along 2nd street, then S56 W for 300m to the football field, then S22 E until 3rd street is reached, and finally N68 E along 3rd street back to the starting point.

Sketch the diagram:
A plane flies at a bearing of 75 degrees from departure point A to point B at 350 mph for 90 minutes. At point B, the plane adjusts bearing to 125 degrees and flies at 325 mph for 1 hour to point C. Find the bearing the plane must follow, and the distance to travel from point C directly back to point A.
