A rotational axis is directed perpendicular to the plane of a square and is located as shown in the drawing. Two forces, 1 and 2, are applied to diagonally opposite corners, and act along the sides of the square, first as shown in part a and then as shown in part b of the drawing. In each case the net torque produced by the forces is zero. The square is one meter on a side, and the magnitude of 2 is 3 times that of 1. Find the distances a and b that locate the axis. Note that a and b are not drawn to scale.

I'm not sure where to begin with this question. Can someone give me some tips? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

okay, im having a lot of trouble figuring out the answer to these two questions. ive looked thru my book a number of times and can never find the exact help i need.

first question.
liquid hydrogen peroxide, an oxidizing agent in many rocket fuel mixtures, release oxygen gas on decomposition:
2H202(l) ----> 2h20(l)+o2(g) = -196.1kj

how much heat is released when 647 kg of h202 decomposes?

and the next question is
silver chloride agcl precipitates when solutions of silver nitrate, AgNO3, and sodium chlloride NaCl are mixed.

to determine the molar heat of reaction for this precipitation, 100.0ml of 0.400 M silver nitrate and 50.0mL of .800M sodium chloride were mixed in a constant-pressure calorimeter, which has a negligible heat capacity. the temp of the mixture rose from 21.15*C to 25.55*C. if the density of the solution is 1.0g/ml and its specific heat is 4.18j/g*c, what is the molar heat of reaction for this precipitation.

thanks. please show how to do them, soo ic an learn.

Large objects also have wave properties in addition to particulate properties, but the wave length in large objects are so small that we cannot detect it.

1. How do we detect wavelength? Do we detect them through sight, touch etc?
2. Why can't we detect small wavelength?

No Time for games, scams, or fraudulate offers. this is the real thing need help! This can save lives of animals,human lives, maybe your child other family member that is breathing bad fumes/carbon dioxide, save them from cancer,liver disease,or other life threatening heath issue. How concered are you? Can you help me make this happened? Can this be the answer to global warming? I believe it is. My invention works with 2 filtration fiters in it. It is an all green product. This production can fill many job positions all over the US. Many Steel Mill throughout the US are being fined Indiana, Minnesota need help the polution in the air is a serious heath matter. In each round of a certain game for two people, the winner scores w points and the loser scores l points (w>l>0), ties are not possible, and all scores are integers. After several rounds, Bonnie leads Connie by a score of 30 to 25. If Connie has one exactly two rounds, compute w.

Easiest-to-understand answer gets the 10.
