According to my friend, as the frequencys of 2 connected systems come closer together, the amplitude of their osccilations would tend to infinity. We tried to come up with a real example -

If I stood on the end of a diving board and bounced up and down, then at the same time swung around a brick on a piece of rope, in such a way that the oscilations of each system matched, would I theoretically be flung into space?

Dy/dx + xy = xy2 when x=0, y=2

(1-x2)*Dy/dx – xy = xy2

(Dy/dx)^2 = (x+1)/(x+2)2

Ln (Dy/dx) = x+y; when x=0, y=0

a) the acceleration of the two blocks
b) the tension in the cord

A 95kg person stands on a scale in an elevator
What is the apparent weight when the elevator is

In my quest to better understand trigonometry, It would be cool for someone to manually (dont use a calculator) calculate cos(256) and show me how they did it, include every step :)

Don't explain to me what cos does, just work it out and show me every step, I'll try to figure it out on my own.

Thanks
