genetically modified organisms.....also known as g.m.o. can spread through nature, interbreeding..once released into the environment it cannot be recalled....and the world food supply is to important to our survival to put at risk.....and theres not enough adequate scientific understanding of the long term impact this has on our environment as well as humans.....no one has the right to play god I'm afraid.......so in my eyes its a bad thing......the reasons against it far out weighs the reason for it

personally I think its a really bad idea. As of right now, we are mostly doing this with food, and granted while no one has had any problems associated with this(that we know of) its still playing god. And you know that people are going to want to start applying this to humans. Genetically created children, perfect for the way the parent wants them to look and resistant to illnesses currently in existance. Where I see the problems coming in are mutations to illnesses, or just new illnesses, and people will die. Genetically altering things is messing with the natural selection process of evolution, there is a reason things are the way they are. And honestly who are we to say that we can do it any better?

Genetic engineering has both good and bad aspects. On the good side it provides for disease resistance and traits which give superior offspring -- producing progeny with more desirable characteristics. On the bad side we may lose 'legacy' or 'heirloom' species, those which have evolved solely via nature and that is a detriment to the gene pool.

Genetic engineering is being very helpful in manufacturing drugs.. Animals to produce more milk and meat also are created by genetic engineering. Fruits and vegetables of high nutritious value also are produced by genetic engineering

Just because we can such a thing doesn't mean we should.And some of its already backfires,such as giving feed animals antibotics.we now have resistant strains of virus and no antibotic can fix and this is only one of many concerns of the future.I think the option for abuse far outweights the good.

or apples or whatever
that makes sense
blasting firefly gnes at tomato plants to make them glow sounds fun its kinda weird, maybe avoid eating that kind of stuff
