2. Use the following letters corresponding to the molecular geometries to answer parts A. and B.

a) triangular planar b) tetrahedral

c) trigangular pyramidal d) octahedral

e) trigonal bipyramidal f) linear g) angular

A. What is the molecular geometry of a SiCl4 molecule ?
B. Predict the molecular geometry of ClO3-

3. What is the electron-pair geometry of ClF5

You must type the name in, e.g. triangular planar
note that the computer is case insensitive, you can use either upper or lower case letters in the answer you enter.

NOTE: If you need to enter T-shaped enter it with a hyphen, just like it appears here.

Two identical blocks of mass m=2.35 kg each start out at rest at height h=1.63m above ground. Block 1 will fall directly down when released. Block 2 will slide down a frictionless ramp of angle 22 degrees. Using Conservation of Energy, (a) find the final speed v of Block 1 in the moment before it hits the ground, and (b) find the final speed v of Block 2 in the moment before it touches the ground.

I've got part (a) I think but I'm not sure, and part (b) is giving me fits. Anyone know how to do something like this?

My friend and I have had a disagreement on this issue and I need help to resolve it.

I said that the LaBrea Tar Pits was NOT the only place where tar seeps out of the ground in Southern California, that in fact there are many places where smaller sepages occur.

She insisted that I was wrong and that there was NO tar except in Northern California. She said that the people who made the documentary about it (where I got my information) must be liars.

Who is right?

Hi! I am a sophomore in high school, and this year I plan to do my science fair project on piezoelectric. I am in honors chemistry, and I want to create piezoelectric crystals, and measure the amount of energy given when pressure is applied. I want to use different types of crystals that I can preferably create myself. Then, I would like to possibly light a small LED.

I know that I can make one type of crystal by using Rochelle salt. Does anyone know of any others, preferably ones that can be made at home?

Also, what is the type of meter I need to get to measure the very small amount of charge that is given off by the crystals. Can I pick one up at my local hardware store, and how much will I have to cough up? The same goes for what ingredients I need for my crystals?

Thanks a lot in advance. I look forward to reading your answers. Please feel free to e-mail me if you need more information, or if I am not coherent enough. Once again, thanks!

a) What is the work Wm done by the student?

b) What is the speed v of the block when it first reaches the horizontal surface?

c) What is the spring constant k of the spring?

d) How far up the incline d1 does the block rebound?
