The answers to most are here. Originally, this was asked to me by a friend and I actually worked this one out. It took a few minutes. How long will it take you? (some of the details are changed to make it harder for some to just look up the answer on the internet).

You have 1000 coins on HEADS. The first person changes that state of every coin: if it is HEADS he flips it to TAILS, and if it is TAILS he flips it to HEADS. The second person changes the state of every 2nd coin. The third person changes the state of every third coin. This repeats up until the 1000th person. How many coins are flipped from their initial position of HEADS?

This battery... for the technical minded among you, it's an alkaline battery, 9 volt battery, it's the type with two connectors on top, a rectangular cuboid. Sorry I can't think of the term for this type of battery.

Anyway, I sustained a fall, and the battery was in my pocket, along with my mobile phone, on the side that hit the ground.

Pretty soon after, the battery became hotter and hotter until I had to take it out of my pocket. It was actually too hot to handle when I took it out. Out of the pocket, it is still hot, but not as hot as it was. Could anyone explain about the increased heat? was it the shock of the impact, OR the close contact with my mobile phone, battery type BL-5C?

Thanks.

The answer in the back of my book says 12. I don't understand how they got that answer. In fact, I can't figure out how to do GCFs of anything with three terms for that matter. Could someone explain what I'm supposed to do on this sort of problem?

I forget who the name of the dude is, but basically he thinks that long ago, B.C. era, aliens came to earth, helped the egyptians and other civilization, such as Atlantis, become advanced. He also says that they looked like giant lizards, bred with humans, and that a whole line of Lizard men have been walking the earth, took powerful political possitions, and that they are in disguise as humans. He says that they consider themselves the Illumanati and are made up of people like George W. Bush, The queen of England and the like. And yes, he believes that they really are lizard people and will one day take over the Earth........so does anyone else believe this. And for the record, no I don't believe in this. Thx

Im so lost, because I understand what a ratio is but I dont know what it means when they say that oxegen is in a 8.0:1 mass ratio with hydrogen. I think that means for every gram of hydrogen there is 8 grams of oxegen.

My textbook said that with this information we can conclude that with the h2o formula that oxegen atoms are in fact 16 (not 8) not times heavier than hydrogen.

I dont get it. I understand that for every gram of H there has to be 8 O. So with 2 grams of H there are 16 grams of O.

But how can oxegen be sixteen times one hydrogen atom when the ratio is 8:1? Shouldnt it oxegen only be 8 times the hydrogen.
