And what did this god evolve from? What were it's ancestors?
There is plenty of fossil evidence for the evolution of humans but I know of none for the evolution of any god. Science doesn't work that way. Before you can suggest some preposterous thing and have it considered possibly valid, you have to have some kind of evidence and facts. "Why not?" is not evidence.

Because that would mean that what we think of as God was just like us humans at some point way back when. That means that when we accumulate enough knowledge we will be the God then. Don't you see if this is true then it is not God or any gods you are dealing with, but highly advance people. Arthur C. Clarke said that any civilization that was sufficiently advanced would be indistinguishable from God. Look up cargo cults.By the way who created God? See that actually makes whoever created God,God.

"god" has evolved; compare and contrast the ancient mythologies (currently non-practiced religions) with religions of today.

Maybe it is possible, but why would you want to believe that?

"Why not?" No reason why not.
But science deals in evidence.
