#2. a farmer owns a triangular field ABC. The side [AC] is 104m, the side [AB] is 65m and the angle between these two sides is 60 degrees.

a) calculate the length of the third side of the field

b) find the area of the field in the form p *squareroot*(3), where p is an integer

(same prob) Let D be a point on [BC] such that [AD] bisects the 60 degree angle. The farmer divides the field into two parts by constructing a straight fence [AD] of length x meters.

c) (I) show that the area of the smaller part is given by (65x) / 4 and find an expression for the area of the larger part
(II) hence, find the value of x in the form q *squareroot* (3), where q is an integer

d) prove that BD / DC = 5 / 8

PS. if its too long to answer here, you can email me at real_name_x@yahoo.com

thank again.

Question: Explain how rescue teams could use two of the postulates to locate a distress signal.

Here are the postulates:
Through any two points, there is exactly one line.
Through any three noncollinear points, there is exactly one plane containing them.
If two points lie in a plane, then the line containing those points lie in the plane.
If two lines intersect, then they intersect in exactly one point.
If two planes intersect, then they intersect in exactly one line.

Question 2:
What is the formula for the maximum number of segments determined by n points.

A. Determine the linear equation that will represent the number of children who will enroll at a given fee. Hint: To write the slope, you need two points on the line. Show all work to receive full credit.

B. Graph the linear equation that represents the number of children who will enroll at a given fee.

C. Approximately how many students will enroll if the camp fee is $180? Round to the nearest child.

D. Approximately how many students will enroll if the camp is free? Round to the nearest child.

I am stuck on this question. I need to determine the expected frequency, f_2, of the second harmonic (n=2) standing wave with the given:

hanging mass = 150 g, linear mass density = 4.1 g/m and the length of the string is L = 1.8 m.

The equation I have been using is f_n = (n*V) / (2*L). Except I don't know V and how do I use the linear mass density (mu) in this case?

Instructions: Determine an appropiate viewing rectangle on a Calculator. In other words I'm looking for domain and range. My problem is, I've been away from Math for a bit, thus I'm rusty on some of the skills. When it comes to looking for the domain and range (x/y min and max), would I want to use the intercepts to do so? How else would one go about stating the appropiate domain and range, or "viewing rectangle" for this guy. Thanks a lot.

The question is:
Suppose a car is traveling at 20 m/s and the driver see's a traffic light turn red. After .530 seconds has elapsed (the reaction time) the driver appiles the breaks and the car decelerates at 7.00m/s^2. What is the stopping distance of the car as measured from the point where the driver notices the red light?

Please explain the formula's used to arrive at the answer. Thank you.

Any help will be greatful

Anyway here it is:
Directions: The symbol [x] means the greatest integer not greater than x. If f(x) = [x] + 4, find each value.

1) f(-4)
2)f(-6.3)
3)f(-√3)
4) f(-4 + t)

The next question is:
Directions: Name all values of x that are not in the domain of the given function.

5) f(x) = √x^2 - 9

Thank you for your help and if you could explain it that would be great.

Thanks again!
