if the ratio of 2x to 5y is 3 to 4, what is the ratio of x to y?

2x/5y =3/4
15=8
please give me some hint about the concept on this one!!!I got it through but can't figure out the relation between them. why the extreme to the mean would be x to y?????

I need to construct a device to launch a launching sphere ( a wooden ball about the size of a grapefruit or a small canteloupe) across a field. It has to go REALLYY FAR!!! here are some rules:
-must be completely mechanical: no chemicals or combustion
-must have wheels attached to the bottom
-must be free to roll once it has been fired

Current world population is estimated to be at 6,830,283,000+.
It is also estimated to be at 8,918,724,000+ by the year 2050. It won't take that long for the worlds current population to double. So what would happen, what would you think would happen?

If the world had a population of 16 Billion people? Could the world governments, possibly support that many people?

Surely by the time the population cap reaches 16billion the average nations would have atleast several hundred million people an the bigger nations such as China,Russia,U.S etc,would have well over a billion ( china and india, currently have over a billion)

Could the world possibly handle that many people? Would there be enough resources?

olive oil.

So far I have variables: temperature, mass and energy
and procedure:
Put .1kg of milk and .1KG of olive oil into 2 glasses. To measure mass ill use electronic scale and subtract mass of the beaker to find mass of substance pored.
- Oil and milk will be at room tempereature (20 degree celsius) by using bunsen burner and messuring temperture through thermometer.
I also have equation
q=mc delta T. Where q is heat.
Please help me finish!

Answer provided by the teacher: 2x-y=5, y=2x-5
