Marvin has 20 nickels and dimes. He has 2/3 as many dimes as he does nickels. How many nickels and how many dimes does Marvin have?

At first I thought that this had no solution, because it doesn't give enough information. Is that true?

Peppered moths in London changed colors over times in order to blend in with their changing environments. This is evolution in action.

What happened with the Pepper moths? How & why did the moths change? How does this phenomenon illustrate Darwin's principles of evolution? Give at least 3 principles illustrated by this example & explain your reasoning.

I always hear people trying "better" ways of converting salt water to fresh, but wouldn't boiling it and capturing the steam be an effective and viable way of doing thison a large scale? I know that the salt stays in the water when it evaporates, this is why the dead sea is so salty.I never really researched it, but to me, this would be by far the cheapest, easiest way to do it. Am I missing something?

My gf and I have been taking walks lately and there is one section of concrete in a parking lot that looks as if someone spilled water on it. I noticed that it has never dried.

What could someone put on concrete or pavement to make it look wet, and stay that way?

Ever been to Kerala. You should consider yourself lucky if you did not see the roads in a pathetic state. Mostly during monsoons and just after monsoons till the sun is up and about , the roads are in a mess filled with pot holes and crater sized holes. Why can't the state do something about this? Its the 21st century for God's sake. Any workable ideas to improve God's Own?? Country

For all integers a and b, if a /≡ b (mod 6) and b /≡0 (mod 6) then ab /≡ 0 (mod 6)

It used to be common wisdom to build cars to be as rigid as possible to withstand collisions. Today, though, cars are designed to have “crumple zones” that collapse upon impact. What advantage does this have?

Im currently in College precal and I just started today well anyways I pretty much know how to do ...... Factoring, extraction of roots, and quadratic formula. Im just practicing the "completing the square method" to better myself but for some reason I dont get the answer the same in the textbook.

The problem is:
2r^2+10r+11=0

Well this is what ive done so far....
r^2+5r+25/4= -22/4+25/4
(r+5/2)^2= 3/4
but for some reason i end up with...
r= -5/2 +or- Square root of 3/4 as my result

but my pre cal book has it as... r= (-5 +or- square root of 3)/2

What am I doing wrong? Am I not simplifying right? Did i miss a step? Well after my end result I dont know what to do.

Thank you for everyones time.
