I used to have trouble swallowing pills until my 20s.

I have learned a way to swallow them without trouble.

You can too.

All my life I have been unable to swallow pills.

One day, years and years ago, I had a very bad sinus headache and knew it would go away if only I could swallow two small pills.

At the time, I was chewing and swallowing huge hunks of banana bread.

i was unhappily swallowing these huge chunks whole, when I had me an idea.

I took a bite of banana bread, chewed it until I was ready to swallow, poked the pill into my mouth, and swallowed the bread, pill and all, with absolutely no problem.

If I cannot feel the pill in my mouth, and I know I will not choke on the food it is nestled in, I can swallow without a single gag. Put the same pill in my mouth with just water, and my throat closes up and I gag. If I do manage to swallow, it comes back up.

Hopefully this will help you. I find bananas have the best texture for pill disguising.. With a banana I can swallow a horse pill with ease.

Let me know if it works for you.

Hi,
I was just like you. I couldn't swallow pills either. The only problem is that eventually in life there are some medicines that just have to be swallowed whole. Here's how I learned:
Start with very small and soft food. Like cooked peas. break one in half, and experiment with swallowing it whole.

Next try to figure out how to swallow a whole pea. It takes quite a bit of practice, but eventually you'll get it. It is easier with food because there isn't the pressure that there is with pills (like having to get it before it starts to dissolve).

Eventually move up to cooked beans.

Once you have mastered the cooked bean, you are ready to try a gel-capsule. Try a vitamin in that form so that you can try one each day.

Seriously, it is worth figuring it out before they have to give you medicine by needles!

try to swallow it with water, push the pill to the back of your throat and try to swallow the pill with water at the same time

I know little kids physicall cannot take pills. Maybe some older kids haven't grown enough to be able to.

You should be able to as you get older.
