I have read those astronomical articles about how the stars we see in the sky, some are no longer there because they are already destroyed. What we are seeing now is a delay image because of the traveling of light.

So I want to ask, if one day we manage to achevie faster than light traveling devices, are we essentially travelling back in time? Since by all accounts we will be moving faster than light.

So today I received a phone call phone a number that came up unknown. There was no one there, but when I looked at the date my phone listed it as 10/13/36, which is impossible because...well it's impossible to receive a phone call of the year 2036. Or is it? So any ideas on the date and the year and so on..maybe someone else received a phonecall as well and it's just a virus that is put through the phone system?
Thanks very much for your help :)

In science class my biology teacher made us put red eyed no wing male flys in a chamber with white eye winged female flys. He made them mate to have babies who made them mate to create hybrids or whatever. But how does that prove that hybrids dont breed true?

I'm trying to work out an equation for the combined value of circumferences of a set of concentric circles.
For example - if we start with a circle of say, 5mm Dia, the Circumfence would be 15.71. If there was then
a circle placed outside of this at a 4mm distance it would have a dia of 13mm - the circumference of this
would be 40.83. Another one at 4mm offset from that would be 21mm (Circumference 65.96). Clear so far?

Well, if you add the above three figures, you get a value (15.71+40.83+65.96) = 122.5. What I want to get is
a simple equation where I can start with a Circle of 5mm, with 2 more Concentric Circles at an offset of 4mm
each time and arrive at the 122.5 I'm looking for. I would want this equation to work for any size circle, with
any number of concentrics and a delta offset (obviously a constant delta, though!). Hopefully I haven't lost you
now...

So for example if you had a circle of 25mm with 15 Concentric circles at an offset of 4mm
(so 25mm, 33mm, 41mm, 49mm) etc. - What would the total value of circumferences be for those 15 circles???

I am doing this so I can work out what the outside diameter a reel of webbing will be after a certain amount of
webbing has been wrapped onto a shaft of a particular diameter.

(Although I guess in reality the pure answer would actually be based on a helix.......)

gemulated sponges are mainly found in fresh waters, but there are some in seas.what is the evolutionary pathway leading to this:
\1)there were sponges became gemulated in fresh waters, then migrated to the seas./or
2)there were sponges gemulated in the seas and only this kind of sponges could live in freshwaters,so fresh waters just contain this kind.
p.s.the spelling of gemul may be wrong.sorry

Depending on where your country is (north or south of the equator), does the water in a bath tub turn a different way when it goes down a plug hole. Why does this happen?

I'm doing a Stage 1 Geography course and I am really confused about the term "space" which they use over and over again without definition.

The course themes include:
1. Effects of changes in technlogy on the spaces we live and work in
2. Effects of changes in space on society and its geography and spatial processes
3. How the above changes affect our view of what space is and how it acts on us

Spatial processes? Space acting on us? And what are spatial technlogies? Can anyone explain to me what space is? Suddenly this simple word seem to have so much hidden meaning..
