The earth is definitely not flat.

In early Classical Antiquity, the Earth was generally believed to be flat. Greek philosophers from that time period were prone to form conclusions similar to those of Anaximander, who believed the Earth to be a short cylinder with a flat, circular top.But when finally Ferdinand Magellan's circumnavigation of the earth brought the experimental proofs for the spherical shape of the earth.

And until now as far as I know it is still spherical or if you want to be more precise, oblate spheroid.

I am sure you must have looked at some globes at your age.Ever thought why these were circular.Did you ever think why you reach back to the same point if you travelled continuously in the same direction from some point on the earth.Ask your mind why does the sky look circular;why it does not look flat.If you think about all these you will get the answer that the earth is circular and not flat.

Those were only theories during the time of Aristotle and Erastothenes. Actually, The polar caps are flat but the side of the earth bulge as the equator is in its largest diameter due to torque. Oblate Spheroid makes this tri-dimensional shape of the earth in Scientific means. In lay mans term it is a sphere but scientifically it is called the aforementioned shape.

1st, imagine if the earth is a globe.

2nd, imagine if the earth is flat but the scope is the same as a globe.

if so - that is if the earth is flat -, then you can imagine there is a layer of special effects between the things on earth and the outer space that makes the astronauts see what they see from space but this time, assuming the earth is flat.

from a globe type of view, it makes sense what the astronauts see from outer space.

but from a flat earth type of view, what kind of special effects layer is actually between the things on earth and the outer space?
