We are either too tall and considered not worth the risk of getting injured, too skinny to produce a good enough energy yield for the energy spent to kill us and the risk involved

Or (and more likely)

They are just simply more used to killing and eating gazelle, they won't consider us food unless in a dire situation.

Stop humanising cheetahs, of course the don't admire them or think they are friendly. They are animals, not humans and are incapable of thinking /feeling the same way. They are too small to bring down a grown man without a lot of energy expenditure and are too weary to go near one, as man is a top predator (with a gun). they have learnt to steer well clear, as have most other animals.

They instinctively know he is not an easy prey, and have an inherent fear for man.
In general all animals in the wild, except perhaps monkeys and dogs, are afraid of man who walks on two legs.Unless you surprise them too close, they usually slip away at the sight of man.
Similarly the animals in protected parks would have frequently seen humans and found that they are harmless.
Either way animals rarely attack man except when startled.

Simple:

Most cheetahs eat gazelle, birds, small prey, antelopes, etc. Humans just don't look like food.
