A 400-N child is in a swing that is attached to ropes 2m long. Find the gravitational potential energy of the child-Earth system relative to the child's lowest position when a) the ropes are horizontal, b) the ropes make a 30 deg angle with the vertical, c) and the child is at the bottom of the circular arc.

So part (a) would give me 800J. I use the U=mgh equation to find gravitational potential energy. So would part (b) look anything like this?

b) U = 400(cos20)*2?

and part c like this?

c) U = 400(0) ?

i'm not understanding this...please help.

All my life bugs have been flocking around me. I remember when I was in elementary school at P.E. or playing outside there were always swarms of lawn gnats flying above my head. Being a kid I thought it was because I was smelly but now that I'm older and have better hygiene I can rule that out, however, the bug are still swarm over me. Then we have the misquotes and fly's and spiders....I'm being stalked.

My room is up stairs and the bugs try so hard to get to me that they will fly up the stairs and even under my door to get at me...this is get crazy. I HATE bugs but for some reason they seem to love me. I know it's not b/c I smell bad or am dirty/nasty maybe I'm releasing some hormone they like to smell or something....

WHY ME!!!

I have a huge crystal meth assignment for school. I have answered most of the questions but have the following to answer.. any websites or suggestions would be great!
Dose crystal meth fall into any "anti" categories? Which ones? Does crystal meth have a shelf life or stability time? If crystal meth was dispensed in a pharmacy would it require auxillary labels? which ones? Should street drugs be given a drug id # (DIN)? Thanks

I'm 34 and remember the commercials for Metricification on TV.

I think in Celsius for temperature (though I know Fahreinheit too), miles for distances, km/h for wind speed, pounds for person weight, kg for grocery weight, and liters for liquid volumes

Totally mixed up.
