Hey, ok i aint as mad as i sound ;-)

whenever you look up at a bight source of light usually say if your in a dark room and you look through a bright window you can see, what can only be described as the above. I'm not looking for a supernatural theory to this, i know there's a scientific explaination for the what's happening. Some kind of electron flares or something hitting the senses in your eye, anyone know what i'm talking about? i know there's an explaination forthis as we once learnt about it in physics at school. any ideas?
