Hey, ok i aint as mad as i sound ;-)
whenever you look up at a bight source of light usually say if your in a dark room and you look through a bright window you can see, what can only be described as the above. I'm not looking for a supernatural theory to this, i know there's a scientific explaination for the what's happening. Some kind of electron flares or something hitting the senses in your eye, anyone know what i'm talking about? i know there's an explaination forthis as we once learnt about it in physics at school. any ideas?

No there not floaters, strange you mentioned that, i was just watching them swiming around the front of my eye, great fun if you know what to look for, they go up, then down ... it's amazing that you can focus on them so clearly, i've always found that really interesting. but yet i can't focus on my finger when i place that in front of m eye, yet the floaters are the size of cells and they appear crisp and sharp! strange world we live in :-)

Oops we're starting to talk about two different things, now, the wormy cell that you focus on a dead cells floating across your eye, perfectly harmless, but very real, and quite fun ;-)
what i'm talking about can only be dscribed as white flare of light.

I see the exact same thing. And I thought it was only me that saw these ! You can see them outside in bright daylight if you look up at a bright sky for long enough. They look like myriads of little white flashes moving around in all directions. I don't think they are caused by an electrical overload in your retinas or optical nerves because I can also see them at normal light levels and even in a completely dark room. If you stare at one spot for long enough (about 5 to 10 seconds) they will start to appear. It even works when staring at a white computer screen (it doesn't have to be particularly bright), or even a blank sheet of paper !
I have to say I don't see them unless I look for them, but when I do they are always there. And, contrary to previous answers, they don't go away after a time, in fact they get stronger if anything. If I don't blink and stay staring at the same spot for 1 to 2 minutes, eventually my entire field of vision is covered with these lights - they are all I can see until I move my eyes at which point they disappear completely !
They remind me of the 'static' noise that you see on a TV set that isn't tuned to any station, so they could be due to electrical noise in your optic nerves, or even in the brain itself. I'm glad it's not only me that sees them, I thought I was starting to lose my eyesight !
Incidentally, there is another phenomena that is similar to this, when you stare at a bright light in a dark room. This effect looks like a myriad of bright streaks emanating out in straight lines in all directions away from the light source. More like a halo than worms or static noise. I think this is definitely something to do with the way your eye functions, but I have never seen any explanation for it. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Yeah I get that. I always thought that it's just particles of dust and other such things on the surface on the eye. I think they're always there but you can only see them and focus on them under certain conditions. A bit like looking at something through a microscope. I see the wormy type things which i'd describe more like hair shaped particles and also smaller round things, both look translucent with slighty darker edges, so yeah that's my take on it. don't worry you're not the only person that sees little worms in the sky!

I know what you mean.
I think it's caused by a sensory overload when suddenly looking at a bright light. Your pupils are still wide open and too much light hits the retina producing an overdose of nervous activity. They disappear once your eyes have adjusted.
Don't worry, there's nothing wrong.

i know what your talking about!!!
it happens to me too!
Im not sure about the exact explanation in physics, but it does have to do with the difference in light, going from dark to light-->the light bounces off into your eye and you see these "worms"
i know exactly what u mean! i just cant explain it too good lol.

properly, i think of that my well-liked costs are: "you're so amazing!" - Austin Bello as quickly as I further him foodstuff on Warped excursion. I had set down the foodstuff and a flamingo beanie toddler on the consistently The Sickest teenagers signing table, then Kyle Burns gasps and says: "OHMYGOD A FLAMINGO! MINEMINEMINE!" and that i'm purely like"... Uh, it grew to become into for you besides... hahaha" And once I gave him the flamingo, I asked: "can i've got a hug?" "of direction!*hugs*thank you for the flamingo, too! you have rather stunning makeup." final one, on the June 21st Warped excursion, I reported to William Beckett: "whats up, ought to you do me a huge prefer? it particularly is my pal's birthday, ought to you sing to her?" "confident! permit me purely await The Butcher to be carried out and we are able to harmonize for you." *smiles* Lmao, Travis Clark is F***ING HILARIOUS!
