I personally think that Geography is much better, because it's easier to understand and I find it much more interesting studying how the Earth works (I am a nature-lover =])

What do you think? And what do you prefer?

tan 3x = (3t - t^3)/(t - 3t^2)

where t = tan x

Solve this equation
4t^3 + 3t^2 - 12t - 1 = 0

The answers are -2.11, -0.0818, 1.45. Could someone who knows the correct method to solve this show how its done? I got -0.0818 but could not get the rest.

I am a law student at OCU and as part of my Pre-trial litigation class, I am paired with a partner and put up against two other students (opposing firms). In our discovery request, we asked whether the fictitious subject had been "treated for any chronic disease or defect," the other firm responded "no." As it turns out they have information that the fictious victim was diagnosed via a blood test for a chronic disease but had not received further treatment. I am filing a "complaint" against them in our class (they get docked 5 points, we get a boost 5 pts). If this was a real trial, I would get avidavidts from doctors. However, since it is not, I am putting it to yahoo answers. So, in your professional opinion, does "treatment" include diagnosis via blood test? In your source box please tell me what your position is (ie RN, LPN, Dr. etc or any dictionary etc you may have used) Thank you.

You discovered by your own means if detection, that, even though you resemble a human being in every way except one which is only known by you, what would be your reaction? Would you share this with the proper medical authorities who would be able to determine this by whatever means at their disposal? How would this affect you mentally?

Okay, we are going over application of derivatives in class right now...I missed the lecture and am trying to understand this stuff the best I can off some notes that I borrowed...It's all about extrema...

1. The veolocity of a particle is (ft/s) is given by v=t^2 -7t +9, where t is time for which it has traveled.Find the time at which the velocity is at a minimum...
(I got the answer 3.5 s. Please correct if wrong...)

2. Find the absolute extreme values of each f(x).
f(x)= cscx [-pi/2 , 3pi/2]
(Would a max. and min. even exist?...This one really confuses me...Please help if you can...)

And lastly
3. Find the derivative at each critical point and determine the local extreme values...
(I don't really understand what this one is asking...)

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN...
