I understand that this occurs but not why (particularly why it increases down a group).

We recently built a house. The well digger hit water at 22 feet and continued until the well was 34 feet. He assured us that we would not have any water problems. Well, last week our well was so low, the pump was unable to pump water. We have had alot of rain lately so this really scares me. I was told that it is not so uncommon for a well to be bad during the first year. We did not have a written contract. I have contacted my States Attorney, he says I do not have a case to take legal action. Any suggestions out there as to what I should do. We hauled water the other day, and this is not something i want to get used to.

I know NASA have planned a manned mission to Mars in the next couple of decades, but considering the fate of the space shuttle it doesn't look great.

Take Australia for example...Why do they have so few people and all that land? In contrast Japan is small but has way too many people. Is it cultural differences?

I will be meeting with my county's Coroner this evening, along with the other members from my local Citizens on Patrol. I have prepared a list of questions, but I don't want to leave anything out. I'm mostly curious about the scope of jobs available, what type of education/ experience/ co-op's, etc. are required and/or desirable, and if there are any opportunites for laypeople to volunteer their time and/or assistance (while I'm earning my degree) in any capacity (filing papers, anything)..

I would like to make sure that I am not inadvertently leaving out any areas of discussion for which such an experienced person might be able to provide answers.. but only if I knew to ask the question.

Thanks!

A long horizontal rod has a beed which can slide along its length and initially placed at a distance L from one end A of rod. The rod is set in angular motion about A with constant angular acceleration 'a'.If the coefficient of friction between the rod and the beed is 'u' and gravity is neglected, then the time after which the beed starts slipping is
(A) sq rt.(u/a) (B)u/a (C)u/sq.rt(a) (D) infinitesimal.

Okay so heres a little riddle type thing. I let you have a go and i'll post up the answer later. enjoy!

Say for this test only, you could make an object move 90% the speed of light (0.9c) in a laboratory. And your lab is a high/wide/long as you want.

The only equipment you may have includes:
- the object (ie stick/ball/book etc) whose max speed can reach 0.9c in this test
- a 4 walled room (of your choice of size)
- a light source ( ie lamp)

How can you make SOMETHING ELSE move faster than the speed of light by moving only the object?

Good luck!
Description with answers please!

not counting the 5 that this question will cost me. At this time, I have 21 questions waiting to be resolved. That will earn me 3 pts back. Assuming I ask 6 questions per day and resolve every one of them,(provided Yahoo doesn't delete them) and I don't answer anymore questions,
How long will it take me before I run out of pts?

Don't forget I have to resolve this one too.
