A projectile is shot from the edge of a cliff h = 245 m above ground level with an initial speed of v0 = 145 m/s at an angle of 37.0° with the horizontal, as shown in Fig. 3-39.
(a) Determine the time taken by the projectile to hit point P at ground level.
s
(b) Determine the range X of the projectile as measured from the base of the cliff.
km
(c) At the instant just before the projectile hits point P, find the horizontal and the vertical components of its velocity (take up and to the right as positive directions).
I got 115.8 m/s (horizontal component)
I got 87.26 m/s (vertical component)-is this right?
(d) What is the the magnitude of the velocity?
m/s
(e) What is the angle made by the velocity vector with the horizontal?
° (below the horizontal)

I don't get any of this. I don't know what they mean by range. Is magnitude the same as velosity?I don't understand what they are asking me to do.

here it is A new element has been discovered on planet Q-Blutonium.this planet is quite dense(47 g/cm squared) and very rare .It is worth 94.5 million dollars a gram.It cost the local labratory 2.2 million dollars to purchase a sample of the new element. What was the volume of the piece of Blutonium the lab purchased? Round your answer to the neareast ten-thousand of a cm squared (hint: volume = mass/density

They have removed the footage from youtube, but this movie showed camera footage looking at our galaxy and other galaxies from a distance away from earth. 100million light years away, then moving closer and going inside a persons cells to x -17. How do they do this when it is past the distance of any satellite and camera footage would be looking from earth which is the opposite direction?

there is a simpsons version available but is nowhere as good as the real thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCfDRvDWid0

Iodine and Bromine react to give Ibr

I2 + Br2 <---------> 2IBr

What is the equilibrium composition of a mixture that initially contained .0015 mol each of iodine and bromine in a 5.0 L vessel. K=1.2 x 10*2

I and Br=.0003 mol

[2x]*2
[.0003-x]*2 = 120

Square root that….
2x/.0003-x = 10.95

Solve for x= 3.67 x 10*4

The correct answer is

I and Br at equil = 4.7 x 10*-5

What did I Miss the boat on? I know its hard to try to understand my work on this thing but please help.

There are about 6 billion people alive today. Almost all will be dead in 100 years, from natural or other causes. Many who won't be born for another 30-50 years could also be dead by 2106 from any number of natural conditions (cancer, heart, stroke etc). The number is obviously greater than 6 billion, but how much more? Double? Triple? That's a lot of graves.

Here's the link to the diagram: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/susu_atari/problemnumber13.jpg

The question is: what's the measure of angle ABC?

Well, I figured out that x=3.

But what's the measure of angle ABC?!?!

Oh, and can you tell me how you solved the problem?

Thanks T_T

What if the Atlantis was a planet that the pharaohs knew about and use to worship as the responsible of life on our planet , they had these astronauts uniforms as a symbol of belonging to another planet . Did they know about the secrets of life and about the true Atlantis which another culture that preceded them informed them about and were the true builders of the pyramids ?

I'm re-asking a q. I tried to ask weeks ago, only people answered before I could finish putting in all the details, and obviously had no idea of wha i was really asking. Okay, bear w' me.

I want to draw an analogy. The story is told of an elderly lady who attended a lecture on cosmology. Afterward, she told the lecturere that she didn't believe the Earth was a sphere, or that it floated in space.

"What do you believe?" he asked.

"The Earth is circular but flat,"she replied. "And it's not floating in space."

"What holds it up, then...?" he wanted to know.

It's resting on the back of a gigantic elephant!"

"What holds the elephant up?"

"It's standing on the back of an enormous turtle!"

"But what holds the turtle up?"

"It's standing on the back of an even more enormous turtle!"

"And where is that turtle standing...?"

"It's no use," she said with a smile. "It's turtles, all the way down!"

the following links show what I believe to be (NOT A CITY) but a dam, that was constructed by a civilization in need of water in the interior of the planet. if this feature (staple shaped at the edge of the ice cap) is merely natural, then why was it tampered with, as to make it look like alluvial flow? i added pics (links) to support this.

Hippopotami, despite their heavy weight, are not tall animals. In the wild, there are often well enought concealed by vegetation to remain unseen until one is within very close proximity of the creature. Hippos are highly territiorial and can outrun and out-distance all but the fastest of human athletes. In the event of a hippo attack, unless one is very close to sturdy shelter, the best hope for survival is to successfully kill the animal. This is for a research project and is an entirely academic exercise. Thanks in advance for your help.
