I know how a galvanic cell works, and I know that Lithium is a Group1 metal with oxidation states of 0 or +1. That doesn't tell me what ions and salts are in a "Lithium Ion" battery, though. (specifically: cell phone battery)

A red air track glider of mass 228 g moving with initial velocity +5.60 cm/s collides elastically with a blue air track glider of the same mass moving with an initial velocity of -37.90 cm/s. What will the red glider's velocity be, in cm/s, after the collision? Please give your answer to TWO DECIMAL PLACES. Don't forget the +/- sign! HINT: Do all of the algebra first, before you do any calculations with numbers. If you calculate with the numbers first, you are likely to get an answer that is not quite correct.

Currently the Haber process uses up about 1% of the worlds energy supply and the energy used for this process is from natural gas. If we experience a shortage in natural gas, is it possible to efficiently do nitrogen fixation with electricity? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it would be viable to produce fertilizer using nuclear energy.

What you need to do is find two digits. You place them at the beginning and end at the number i will state so that the number is divisible by 99. Let's call the 1st digit "a" and the 2nd digit "b". You basically need to do this: Find the values for a and b so that the number a8548736473674837483376b is divisible by 99. I know it looks hard, but how many options could there be with only a and b? Write you answer as the two digit number "ab".

By looking at it im pretty sure that the graph is going to be a parabola because of the x^2. Also that it is shifted one unit to the left because of the plus 1. I do not know what to do with the 4 in the numerator.
Is this a composition of transformations?
Do I have to simplify it into two functions and how do I do it?
What do I do with that 4?!!
Thanks,
Super Confused....

The recent question about whether the weight of humanity affects the Earth, and an old question by someone who thinks if we all jumped up and down at the same time we could move the Earth, shows how people have no idea of the scale of things.

The Earth is 6 x 10^21 tonnes.

For people who are not familair with powers of 10, that number is 6 with 21 zeroes on the end, or 6 billion trillion tonnes.

If the average human is 50 Kg, the weight of the entire human race is 300 billion Kg

Divide by 1000 for tonnes; that is 300 million tonnes.

That is a pittance compared with the Earth.

If you divide the Earth's mass by the People's mass

6 x 10^21 divided by 3 x 10^8

You come out with 2 x 10^13

That is 20 trillion.

The Earth is 20 trillion times the mass of all the people put together.

This question is for someone with the knowledge and the ability to express the answer simply. I've always seen the insinuation that the two branches are not compatible with each other...never quite understood WHY though, seeing as BOTH seem to work pretty well.
Could it be that the answer of "everything" might be found in BIOLOGY?...seeing as neither branch delves into the appearance of life in the universe and how it relates to physics.
