The space between the Earth and any other planet in the solar system. If you travel through interplanetary space it is assumed you are going to Mars, for example, but not to the Moon.

Compare that to interstellar space. That would be the space between our sun and the stars in our galaxy.

Then there's intergalactic space.

That's about it.

Space that is in between planets, like the space between Earth and Mars. Not to be confused with INTERSTELLAR space, which is the space between stars, for example the empty blackness between any two random stars you see in the sky.
