I have a complicated question to ask, and I'll start by trying to draw an analogy. So the first part is, let me know if my analogy is valid or not.

As I understand the anthropic principle, it states that we fit so well in our environment because the environment shaped us; this is the only kind of environment in which we could have existed; and thus the perception that we fit well into our environment is an illusion.

The anthropic principle gives the appearance of being a result of linking theories that postulate multiple dimensions to account for things such as the weakness of gravity compared to other basic forces, with the theory that if there are enough alternate universes, we need not bother to ask why our own universe is the way it is, with us in it; we can simply assume that we are the one that randomly hit the lottery and that there are a lot of other universes out there which we can't see that didn't quite make it.

I have a friend age 20... This kid has some serious issues. I mean he is smart, hes going to Medical school right now. But he is constantly perceiving things totally wrong. He will think that when we joke with him, that we are all against him. then hell start saying that we make him the outcast, when it is clearly himself who is doing it. Every time he is around at least three people, he tend to get into a fight with one of them. He was recently kicked out of his house, and I talked to his father to the other day. His father said, "I kicked him out because he's not listening to me. He's going through a tough time right now and I have set him up many appointments with a reality doctor and he just won't go to see him. He has trouble coping with reality and thats what his problem is."

Never heard of a reality doctor or having trouble coping with reality. I mean, hes got some problems, definately, but he isn't a psycho. What's up with this?
