Stewpot, the morale of the moth (from philosophical point of view) is that you get killed by the very thing you love or desire - which in the case of the poor moth is bright light......someone should go and tell them!!

Some moths do come out during the day. Haven't you ever read, "Death of a Moth" by Virginia Woolf? Depressing as hell. The poor diurnal moth beats itself to death against a window. I think it's a metaphor or something.

Moths also pollinate some plants. No lightbulb activity there. You should catch the poor little suckers and release them away from a light--they're just trying to fly toward the moon so they meet their moth sex partners. Poor stupid beasts. I feel sorry for them. I catch them and feel them flutter in my hands, then...fly away, little moth! Don't be mean to them--they're cute with their little fluffy antennae like feathers and their little fuzzy bodies. Love the moths!
