I am new to this school, and while going through my chemical closet, I found a plastic sandwich bag with a shiny, purple solid inside. It was broken into small pieces. All I know about the material thus far is that it dissolves in water and turns the solution a dark pink color. Any information on where I could look up the physical properties of certain elements or chemicals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If for some reason the world stopped spnning on it's axis, what would happen? Would we all die, if so how? Would we lose gravity but still be able to live? Does any scientist out there know? Any guesses people?Cheers
