Did you know, the Irish have almost as many different names for types of rain as Eskimos do for snow?

Right now, it's mizzling outside.

So you know how people say space goes on and on and on, is this true?

Surely it cant just go on and on and on can it? Obviously everything has to come to an end? - Or maybe have we just been brought up to think that?

Furthermore, if it does come to an end, what is on the other side of that ending?

For those of you who've read the novel, is it at all plausible for a bear to follow a child through the forest for nine days, thus probably leaving his territory behind (are bears territorial?), and not eat her ? What could prompt such a behavior ? Aren't bears strictly predatorial ? Does the story make sense from a naturalist/behaviorist point of view ?

I know its to do with Gravity. But my question is more broad than the sun and the earth. Why does the moon orbit the earth? earth orbit the sun etc. What is it in the gravitational pull that makes the satellite go around. As i understand it, gravity is a pull towards, not around. You try to make a coin float in the earth atmosphere and gravity will pull it down; it wont start orbiting. So surely instead of going around the sun we should just be getting ever closer, rather than spiraling in to the sun. Where is the pull/ sideways energy that brings us around?
