Yep they have better sight than us in the dark, though it not 100%.
They are also colour blind.

Yes, I think they can! I saw some the other night walking home in the dark and they seemed to know exactly where they were going. But, then I was a bit slow answering this question and the guy above seems to have a much more technical explanation, choose him as best!

No animal can see in the dark, meaning the complete absence of light. Certain animals have enhanced ability to see in low light conditions owing to a differing number of rods versus cones in their retinal photoreceptors. Cats have enhanced scotopic vision (dim light vision) because of their higher reliance on rod photoreceptors. This gives them less color vision (photopic vision). However, the other feature that they utilize is the presence of the tapetum lucidum, a sort of reflective blanket of cells beneath the retina that reflects the dim light back to the retina so the cells get one more chance to respond. The presence of this membrane is the reason why if you look at a cats eyes in dim light, while shining a flashlight at them, their eyes appear to glow red.

As far as cows go, I believe they have better scotopic vision than humans but nowhere near as good as cats or dogs.

They can see ok in the dark. They also have whiskers that help them to "feel", as do many mammals, such as cats (obviously), and horses and dogs and guinea pigs etc etc.
