in seventh grade science, i need to do a presentation to the class with my group to tell/show the class about the 4 basic neccesities of life ( water, living space, food, and air) and the 6 charactyeristics of all living things ( have cells, grow and develop, use energy, reproduce, and sense and respond to change). the presentation can be from a song, to a jeopardy game, to a radio station saying it. does anyone else have any ideas what my group and i can do, thats preferably not any of the options that i listed above?

15 pennies, 2 players. Each player removes 1-5 pennies per turn. The player to remove the last penny wins. How can you guarantee victory?

I know this has something to do with leaving the other player with 6 pennies on their last turn. But what comes before that?

My source is Nasa but I can't direct you to it because it is on m hard disk. It is 1.24 miles across and would be the equivalent of a 1 million megaton explosion if the worst happens.

Imagine 2 super-strong magnets in a vacuum chamber. They're polished to a mirror fininsh and mounted in a frame that allows them to be brought together without touching At some very close proximity, the magnetic force between them becomes so strong that virtual particle pairs in the gap are torn apart before they can recombine. Positively charged particles are drawn in one direction and negatively charged ones in the other. A wire connects the 2 magnets and an inline meter begins to measure a current. Plausible scenario? Have I just revolutionized the world? ;-)

There are the signs in the news about places that are bewildering the scientists why such places are dying off. For example the Salt marshes of the upper East coast. The Aspens in the Rocky Mountains, and the Changing of the Gulf Stream among others. There is more and more bad news about Global Warming, every day.
I suspect that its already too late to do anything about it.

So how much time does the human race have, before it gets really desperate just to survive? Because Civilization isn't going to last much longer, when we can't grow enough food and there isn't enough energy to go around for the things we take for granted.

Well, sure you will live out a normal lifetime - why should you care, but what about your children or your grandchildren, they're gonna have to deal with the difficulties of making a living and surviving in a hostile new world of "our" making.

Isnt inteligence the best result of evolution?

Human beigns dominate the world(in a sense) because our brains are the best result evolution could give us.

But certain animals have existed here far before Erectus (ancestor) set foot in Africa. like the Big cats for example. lions and tigers have not put emphasis on development of the brain but instead on claws and strength, wont a bit of smartness go well with that hunt?

why didnt those animals divert into the branch of evolution that puts emphasis on brains rather than muscle?

i always had this doubt! why?
