There are the signs in the news about places that are bewildering the scientists why such places are dying off. For example the Salt marshes of the upper East coast. The Aspens in the Rocky Mountains, and the Changing of the Gulf Stream among others. There is more and more bad news about Global Warming, every day.
I suspect that its already too late to do anything about it.
So how much time does the human race have, before it gets really desperate just to survive? Because Civilization isn't going to last much longer, when we can't grow enough food and there isn't enough energy to go around for the things we take for granted.
Well, sure you will live out a normal lifetime - why should you care, but what about your children or your grandchildren, they're gonna have to deal with the difficulties of making a living and surviving in a hostile new world of "our" making.

i think will make it to 3000 and then things will get tight, here are several things i think will happen
- The west coast will be gone, continental shifts
- global warming will be a very serious topic (cause people will be dying in droves), not like today, where its all politics
- we will have killed off most of the animals on Earth and have to think about relocation to another planet
In summation, We are getting closer to extintion, its just noone cares!

I think you've been watching too much television. The whole 'global warming' scam is just an excuse for politicians to waste more of our money. There is no 'disaster' coming -- except for my dentist appointment next Tuesday.
