I took a weekend trip this past weekend flying Southwest on a Boeing 737. It peeked my curiosity to know what amount of force was being placed on me to get the aircraft in flight. If you know I would like to know how many gee's we were being placed under during the initial take off.

What is the equation and what is the name of the residue (I am no chemist!), something like NaBO + H6?

Does gravity affect speed of light. Consider a light wave escaping from earth. Since gravity is a force, It should affect the light particles.
But if the speed of the light is same in space and as well as in earth,
then what is effect of gravity's pull on light (consider there are hell lot of planets and stars with high gravity)

Humans (at least modern day type) cannot even figure out a way to propel ourselves outside of our own solar system, yet, these scientists are trying to explain the principles, properties and laws of matter/elements and etc. in distant places? Why? Why can't people just say, "we don't know"? We don't even understand all the makings of our own planet and what surrounds us. I just want some theories of why some people find the need to explain the unexplainable? Maybe if these things were meant to be known, we would get a sign from the Heavens, or become enlightened. Yet, since all we do is segregrate and kill eachother, and have not learned how to live in peace with eachother, why should we have that enlightenment? Certainly, Humans in power would find a way to use it to control, or kill other humans.

Problem: an object is shot strait upward with an intial velocity of 6 m/s. Measure how long it takes for an object to reach the height of 1 meter?
Use the displacement equation to find the time at which the projectile would reach the height of 1 meter above its initial position.?
I know to solve this I need to change displacement equation to:
y = vot - 1/2 at^2
I'm just not sure how to plug in the numbers.

I have collected several books about Richard Feynman, one of the best physicist America ever had! They are "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman!", "What Do You Care About the Other People Think?", "Genius: The Life and Science of Richard Feynman.", and "Feyman Lecture in Physics" and some other additional lecture, including the lost one! I love reading them again and again.... Feyman's life is so hilarious! I also shed some tear when I read how much he loves his first wife Arline....

What do you all think then? Which books are the best about Feynman?
