Just so people don’t go wasting their time going out to look for something that aint going to be there:

The Mars close approach thing going round is a hangover from August 27 2003, when the closest approach actually happened. The misinformation going round is due to old articles hanging around on cyberspace that have been found but not studied well by kids surfing.

One particular is still there – do a Google search on MARS CLOSE APPROACH. It brings up at the top of the list an article put out by the BBC three years ago. The trouble is, it does not show the date in the title information, and even when you go to the page it is easy to miss the small-font date at the top of the page.

Kids have found this and in their hurried read of it have assumed it is talking about Aug 27 this year, and spread from friend ot friend to friend. One of the last queries we had on this was from Peurto Rico for heavens sake.

I mean does it touch the ground and thus is absorbed,.. or all that energy turn into light and it happens away,... an example would be I guess if I were to rephrase this with sound, I would ask about why the sound weakens in an echo, where does all that sound go,.......Say in a sealed shut room with no opening why isn"t it that we cant hear an echo repeat and repeat and repeat and so on for ever if it is in a sealed shut room with no openings?

Why is the HPV vaccine aimed at young girls? Certainly HPV can lead to cervical cancer which is deadly but shouldn't a vaccine be aimed at both men and women? Is there some reason all coverage to present has focused on girls recieving the vaccine and making mention of cervical cancer? HPV can also lead to cancer of the penis but this is never mentioned. Any urologists, physicians or anyone with thoughts, ideas as to what the deal is?

I recently read a paper put out by experts of explosions and astronomers. They all said that universe was probably started by an explosion as is commonly beleived. (it is expanding and slowing down, which are charicteristics of an explosion) But they also said that if it is an explosion, the "Big Bang" could onlt have been about 18 billion years ago, calculated by the universe's rate of decay in speed (of expanding).

Since the theory of evolution says the universe is approxametly 65 billion years old, is it wrong?

Or did we evolve in high speed?

I never really had a real conceptualization of the size of the World Trade Center. Without doing a lookup, can any one guess how many elevators, ecalators, window panes; and total floor area in acres.

I keep hearing that the sky turns a sickening color green before a tornado hits. Is there an explanation for this? Having never seen or been in the path of a tornado, I am curious to know.
