It is solved when

(1) the teacher says it is not an equation

or

(2) when the character "2" stands only as a variable, just like x, y, or z, and the value for "2" is 0.

the value for x, y, z and "2" = 0

x + x = 0

y + y = 0

z + z = 0

2 + 2 = 0

However, numbers should never be used a variables because that is confusing.

If 2 + 2 = 0, then 4 = 0. This perhaps could result in a fallacy which you allow division by zero. (it depends though on what you're "intention" is). If it were a typographical error, one should be the -2. If you insists as this, then it is indeed a fallacy of division by 0. I can't solve that equation since you (and we) know that it should be 4. :D

2+2=0 is false under the common understanding of math. Your teacher is probably trying to trick you and will have some cheesy answer. These have been discussed above. Maybe 0 - the letter O which is a variable?

Sure, just add 4 to the 0? Still not quite sure how it works? Try asking the question in the political science section because they tend to be really good with numbers. LOL!!

Using binary system, where 2 canbe equalized to 0

thus 0+0=0

one could be a negative 2

Only way I see that it ever works is if there's some definition to what you're adding....

...from Romeo and Juliet, we know two star-crossed lovers, plus two tragedies equals zero problems between the Capulets and Montegues.

...from chemistry, two electrons plus two positrons equals zero particles.

there is no solution to that equation. If you rewrite the equation, it also says that 2 = -2. Again there is no solution to that equation either.
