Battery acid is clear and colorless. It generally is the term for the acid in car batteries, which is quite strong and hazardous. Toy batteries contain other liquids which are not quite as hazardous but should be avoided. Wash hands. Discard batteries which are leaking. They will damage toys.

Battery acid in your car looks like water--that is what it mainly is. There is no water in small batteries.

I have always seen it a grayish look. But it could be clear. Did your son spill anything in th etoy.

when it dries it looks like cauliflower, when wet its clear.
