100 people have been assigned seats for a lecture. There are exactly 100 seats in the room. However, the first person to enter the room has lost his seat assignment and randomly chooses a chair to sit in. The rest of the 99 people walk in one at a time and sit in their assigned seat if possible, or if someone is already in their seat they randomly choose one of the empty ones.

What is the probability that the last person to enter to room will sit in his assigned seat? And what is the answer if there are 1000 people and 1000 seats?

Ok if they are straight starting off why would they have same-sex contact if they are not even attracted to the same-sex wouldnt it mean they have to be attracted to them because why would they just do it, to do it? Also when some are in danger are where it's really hard to be gay why would they choose that, someone fill me in. Because my gay cousin is and I don't know how I should react.

Because the other day I was arguing with a friend, and I was sure that Mexico City is the world's most populated city, even though Tokyo appears in most of the World Atlas as the most populated city. We need to consider the fact that the last census that ocurred in Tokyo was in 2004 , while in Mexico City in 2000.

Scientists have done great work because of which have learnt so much about the nature.

For a moment if we just try to forget about the all that has been discovered about the nature, share your thoughts about the following (what does your heart say?).

1. Do you think the nature will be as complex as described by quantum physics?

2. Lets say BigBang was not the cause of the universe, what else do you think could have caused the current universe?

3. Do you believe man will be able to find the "Grand unification theory"?

4. What could be the top 5 discoveries w.r.t physics say in the next 50 years?

I know a good bit about transformers from a theoretical perspective, but how are the windings made? What kind of insulation is used on the wire? How is the number of coils accurately counted? How are the taps accurately placed?

I guess this could apply to any wire winding as well, like in motors/generators.

Thanks!

Einstein couldn't grasp hold of the theory and I'm just wondering if it's more of a Las Vegas odds system than real science. Probability and uncertainty are good for horse races and roulette, but I find I need more from my physics. What if we just don't have the measurement tools at the quantum level to take into account the effects of the warping of time and space? At the macro level, these effects are small compared to the size of the objects, but at the quantum level, these effects could be astronomical to the point that we just can't measure them effectively to predict their outcome? Now, I'm not a mathetician and physics theorist so give it to me in something that I can get my arms around. And remember, simplicity is truth and complexity is mankinds way of saying, "I don't really know." Also, applying quantum rules to the universe? If we can't apply Relativity at the quantum level, why should the quantum level be applied at the macro level? String theory?
